Jury Trials
While jury trials have become less frequent, if Mrs. McKnight deems a jury trial is necessary to best suit the needs of her clients, the case is set for jury trial. This most frequently happens in relocation cases, in which one parent seeks to move with the children to another state or city. This often follows marriage, a new job, or “because they want to”. As judges are reluctant to grant one parent the right to move, absent very compelling reasons, a jury trial can be sought after by one of the parents.
Juries are also requested in some termination cases when a court may be more forgiving of a parent’s misdealing. The Law Office of Mary D. McKnight has extensive experience (over 100 jury trials from 1975-2019)
